Arizona State University is one of the most popular universities in the United States, with more than 70,000 students in attendance in 2016. Enrollment has trended upwards every single year since 1991. There are nine men’s and eleven women’s sports teams that are division one programs, with Sun Devil athletes often reaching national coverage in print media and television programs. It’s also considered one of the top party schools by many personal online reviews and ASU apartments reviews and accounts.
Many colleges require first-year students to stay on campus during their freshman years. Students often aren’t interested in staying in university housing because of their exorbitantly high prices, crowded buildings, and having to deal with law-abiding RAs. Some universities, however, don’t require their students to live on campus, fortunately for first-time enrollees.
Arizona State University doesn’t require freshmen to live on campus, leading many of them to seek out off-campus apartments. Housing complexes are cheaper to live in, provide more freedom, and facilitate more fun than dormitories. More than 111,000,000 Americans live in apartments, meaning that more than one-third of United States citizens live in apartments, demonstrating their popularity among the population. Here are four apartment complexes right beside or on ASU’s campus that upcoming and returning Sun Devils can stay at.
Quadrangle Village Apartments
These complex is located at 1255 East University Drive, right in the heart of college-town Tempe, Arizona. The Quadrangle Village Apartments features a regularly-cleaned outdoor pool, professional-level spa, gym, night patrol for safety and security, game room, gated access, and a number of other benefits not available at every place of living. Although it was built thirty years ago — which is relatively new for many apartments in Tempe — its rooms are regularly renovated. Students can choose from over five hundred individual units to choose from, ranging in bedroom count, layout, and and other features. Rent is relatively low, to boot, as low as $579 for select units.
University Crossroads
University Crossroads is more expensive than several other apartment complexes, although its quality is more than enough to satisfy college students’ wants and needs. The complex is nearly sixty years old, but has a number of quality amenities, including a gated entry, complete kitchens, balconies and patios, and low-cost washers and dryers. . It has studio, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments to meet the needs of individuals and groups of friends alike.
Vista del Sol
Vista del Sol is on campus, although this is a perceived benefit for many ASU students. Living here requires short walks to class, even for others who live in the same campus, as Vista del Sol is right near the campus’ actions. There are ten buildings centered around a 20,000-plus-square-foot community center with indoor running trail, basketball courts, and full-service exercise equipment. Living here can be rather expensive, ranging from around $700 to $1,000 for shared three-room bedroom apartments to four-room spaces with private rooms.
San Marbeya
Residents at San Marbeya often throw killer pool parties, making it a prime residency for many Arizona State Universities to live in. Prices for these ASU apartments are more expensive than others on this list, although the top-notch rooms are well worth the cost. Residents can choose from many parking spaces to commute to campus or ride the Orbit, because living here is out of ASU’s campus’ range.
